Dear Customer,
Hello everyone and welcome to this month’s Happy Puzzle competition!
For those of you who are new to this, for 14 weeks over lockdown we had an absolute blast creating weekly puzzles which were being received by well over 50,000 people each week. We had thousands of entries and each week a winner was drawn at random from the correct entries. As the weeks passed by, the puzzles were getting more and more ambitious and in the end, Gavin had to concede that he did not have the time to produce a new one every week. So we decided to make it a monthly thing, with the puzzle coming out at 7pm on the first Tuesday of each month.
Here we go then!
Here is the 72nd PUZZLE and there is a £25 Happy Puzzle voucher up for grabs! By the way, the answer for February’s puzzle and the name of the winner, can both be found at the bottom of the email.
Location, Location, Location
Below are the names of 45 UK towns or villages. Having lived in the UK all my life, i have never heard of many of these places, which is why i thought this would be a brilliant challenge.
Now, 40 out of those 45 locations are real which means the remaining five are fake. The first thing you need to try and work out is which of the five locations are in fact fake. That's easier said than done.
Once you think you have worked out the five locations that don't exist, your next task begins.
You will noticed that next to each location (including the five fake ones) are three random words. You may be familiar with What 3 Words, but essentially it is a mapping company that has split the entire world up in to 57 trillions 3m x 3m squares, and each of those squares has three unique words to signify its location. You can try it for yourself by visiting https://what3words.com.
With the five fake locations, you need to use the real world What 3 Words locations to work out what links those five locations. The website above will help you in locating them.
To win the £25 Happy Puzzle voucher, you simply need to email me what the common link is between the five REAL What 3 Word locations that can be found next to the five FAKE UK towns and villages.
Please send your answer to me at josh@happypuzzle.co.uk, ensuring that you put MARCH 2025 PUZZLE in the subject line.
The competition closes at 11.59pm on Monday 31st March 2025. Both the answers and the winner will then be drawn at random and revealed in next month’s puzzle on Tuesday 1st April 2025! My decision will be final!
